St Bride Library at 125

December 1 2021 – March 1 2022

Times: 10:00-5:00pm

Please note: the exhibition space is not always open due to its dual usage. Please contact St Bride Foundation at [email protected] before you come to avoid disappointment.

St Bride Foundation is closed from 24th December 2021 until 4th January 2022 for Festive break.

We are delighted to present our new exhibition celebrating the first one hundred and twenty-five years of St Bride Library.

St Bride Foundation came into being at the end of the nineteenth century as a place of education, recreation and culture for the ‘people of Fleet Street and Farringdon’ with particular emphasis on those in the printing and associated trades.

The exhibition will provide a potted history of the Foundation, demonstrating the vital role of the library within the kaleidoscope of activity that the Foundation offered, and highlighting the original activities of the Foundation, with purpose-built print school, sporting and social clubs as well as the much-loved swimming pool. We hope the exhibition will demonstrate too that whilst the Foundation’s range of activities has changed or been adapted, we remain true to its original purpose, with the wonderful St Bride Library constant at its heart.
